Tens of thousands saw the final of a karting contest in Poland at the weekend where guests of honour were Jaime Alguersuari and Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber.
The two Red Bull F1 drivers gave a demonstration along the streets of Warsaw in our Running Showcar and Jaime also competed against the winner of the Red Bull As w Karcie competition.
More than 4,000 young Polish drivers had competed in regional finals in the preceding four months.
The winner of the 2010 Red Bull As w Karcie, Dariusz Madura, won a trip to the Brazilian Grand Prix in November and also had a chance to race against Alguersuari on the Warsaw street circuit.
Although Dariusz had raced the track the whole day, it was impossible for him to overtake the Spanish driver: “The experience of racing with such person like Jaime was incredible,” said Madura. “I learned so much from racing with him. I can’t believe it was just one race. I guess that when you see how an F1 driver is taking each curve, it is the best thing an amateur rider can get!”
