Today's the day for biathlete Dominik Landertinger. As the anchor of the Austrian relay team, he will fight for victory at the World Cup event in Oberhof. We reached the Austrian sniper a few hours before the competition...
Hi guys,
The training session yesterday was pretty nice, but, what a surprise, the weather in Oberhof was quite bad. It's okay, though, I am used to the difficult conditions up here. And actually I really like the track.
By the way, once more I will be the anchor of the relay team. Fortunately, I am in pretty good shape again. For those who don´t know, I caught a persistent virus at the start of the season which hampered my performance, especially during the cross country skiing. But now I should be able to get some important metres and seconds for my team-mates.
The track itself is really, really tough – the climbs are hard and take a lot of energy. In addition we have to deal with the thick snow, which affects the running performance. Nevertheless, I like the atmosphere in the floodlit arena. It's very cool.
My plans for today? I will sleep a little bit, and prepare myself for the competition. Then it´s time for, hopefully, a great race!
Dominik
