Red Bull Crashed Ice Champion up for the Fight

It's been a tough season for redbullcrashedice.com blogger Martin Niefnecker but, even if his hopes of retaining the championship took a big hit in Valkenburg, the German is determined not to go down without a fight as he takes a step into the unknown this Saturday.

Hi,

Unfortunately, the Valkenburg stage went quite badly for me, although the fast course I thought would suit my style quite well. But now the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship continues and we are all guests in the great country of Russia!

For a long time now I have been looking forward to getting to know this mysterious and fascinating culture and city and to take part in the event there will be special.

Unfortunately, things now look quite bad for me in terms of my chances of defending the title. But that won't prevent me from pulling out all the stops in order to give the others a hard time!

As my hometown just hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, I was able to relax away from the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship. Now I can focus completely on the race this weekend.

I hope that I will be on the podium for the first time this season on Saturday. I will do everything I can to achieve this aim, although for sure it won’t be easy, as the competition never rests!

Martin
