Taddy Blazusiak was made to work hard in round two of the 2012 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship but the Pole eventually returned to the top of the podium.

On the tour's first ever stop in Northern California at the Power Balance Pavilion, home of NBA's Sacramento Kings, KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak was pushed to the very limit as he tried to make amends for his third place in round one in Las Vegas.

Taddy got off to a poor start, slipping back to eighth before clawing his way back into contention. Kevin Rookstool was one of those who beat the Polish rider to the first turn and he led the race until he crashed. Blazusiak then picked up the pieces to take the lead, having battled his way past Destry Abbott into second.

With Taddy pulling away and eventually finishing 10 points ahead of the next-best rider, there was a fierce battle for second place fought between Cody Webb, Rookstool, Abbott and Taddy's KTM team-mate Mike Brown. Both Rookstool and Brown went down in separate incidents, letting through Taylor Robert, who fought had to fight from the back of the field after a first-turn bump. Rookstool eventually took third, with Cory Graffunder fourth and Mike Brown fifth.

Taddy was on fire all day. Earlier on in MVP Racing’s Hot Laps, he jumped the five logs in front of the finish line to set the fastest lap and bag himself the pick of the gates in the race heats. He then destroyed the field in this heat, leading all six laps.

He's now in the familiar position of leading the EnduroCross Championship.
