- About
- The 2012 Hurley Pro at San Clemente, California, is back and better than ever! Featuring some of the finest and most talented surfers on the planet who descend upon California's premier wave, San Onofre State Beach, Lower Tresties. This year the world's surfing elite will tackle the world's most 'rippable' wave, in a brand new World Tour seeding format and the most progressive judging criteria in the ASP's history. For only the second time, the Tour will narrow its participants to just 32 instead of the usual 44. Things are far from concluded in the race for the title. As in years past, the Hurley Pro typically serves as the turning point in the world title race. Win here, and athletes are propelled into the final stretch with tremendous momentum. Mick Fanning did just that in 2009 when he came from behind to take the Hurley Pro title and then, three months later, his second world title. 4 wildcard entries and 2 further spots still to be determined, will make up the contingent for the competition. And you can follow every twist and turn live with state-of-the-art webcasts capturing everything in multi-camera detail. There is also an official App for the iPhone and iPad, bringing this staggering event to the palm of your hand.
