- About
- Last year was an emotional first year for the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Canada. Local hero Peter Devries took out the inaugural competition hosted in his home town of Tofino, British Columbia. He, along with a host of international talent will once again make the massive trek through the wilderness of western Canada to one of the most stunning events in professional surfing. With bears, whales and the possibility of even snow as a backdrop this is a fixture on the surf tour not to miss. The village of Tofino plays host to the most northern surf contest on the planet, and will rightfully uphold its mantle as the 'surfing capital of Canada'. Over a hundred of the very best surfers in the world will adorn its shores and hit the waves on the pristine beaches of Cox Bay, all to compete for the $145,000 prize money. They, along with the large number of spectators who will make the same trip will be able to sample all that Tofino has to offer during its famous 'storm watching' season - warm and welcoming accommodation, fantastic culinary choices from award winning restaurants, and up-close access to the forces of nature that make the area one of the most desirable coastal destinations year-round.
