Two all-time firsts for the Red Bull X-Fighters! To kick off the 2011 season the FMX elite will start for the first time ever in the United Arab Emirates city of Glitter, Dubai.
There the towers of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj al Arab stand as if eternal, rising high up in the sky.
But when the six top riders of the 2010 season on a Cliffhanger Flip are sailing through the air, those buildings will look like a backdrop.
After all, the FMX action starts down below - at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. And heroes like defending champion Nate Adams, Andre Villa, and Levi Sherwood are hoping for some sand in the gears. They have had no experience with it yet: for the first time in the ten-year history of the Red Bull X-Fighters, the riders jump in a location directly on the beach.
