Northug won the Men's 50km classic at the 2010 Winter Olympics and, less than two weeks later, the 50km freestyle event at the Holmenkollen to become the first skier to win the 50km at the Winter Olympics, World Championships, and Holmenkollen since Swede Gunde Svan's triple crown in 1988.
