About this Image: Yet with such a bleak economic situation, with most people having next to nothing, they have learned to co-exist in a way that makes the Cubans some of the warmest, nicest and most dedicated people you will meet. They have mastered the art of making something out of nothing. The photographer Chang related a story about not being able to get the batteries he needed for one of his cameras, so of course he had learned to build his own out of other, weaker batteries. "Where there's a will, there's a way" should be the national motto. -Jody Morris
