About this Image: Philipp's father Peter Öttl was a very successful grand prix rider, and won five GPs (3 x 80cc and 2 x 125cc) between 1989 and 1996. “Of course when I watched my dad's races I was motivated to try it myself,” Philipp says. “I started riding a Yamaha PW50 when I was five and enjoyed it from the start.” Philipp rode Supermoto and Motocross for five years before he started road racing, and he finished 19th in last year’s Rookies Cup. His hero is Valentino Rossi and he aims to be 125 World Champion one day. He also rides BMX.
