About Mark
At only 17 years old, Canadian snowboarder Mark McMorris has already shown that he has what it takes to be a world-class competitor despite hailing from the distinctly mountain-free Saskatchewan region and being a relative newcomer to the sport.
An outstanding performance at the Red Bull Performance camp in New Zealand propelled the rider to new heights and it has been a non-stop rollercoaster ride ever since for Mark. He was 1st in the Empire Shakedown 2010 and at the Winter X Games in Aspen at the start of 2011, Mark took silver in the slopestyle event alongside fellow Canadian Seb Toutant.
A sublime victory followed at the 2011 Air & Style contest in Innsbruck confirming a sensational start to the year for Mark after his cab 1260 double cork secured the top spot on the podium.
A talented wakeboarder and a fan of skateboarding, Mark seems to be happiest with his feet off the ground but hasn’t let his sporting achievements go to his head. His biggest goal in life is to make a name for himself and to become someone that people will always respect and remember – if he continues to blaze a trail of glory on the international scene he should be able to reach that goal without too much difficulty.
