Steven LoBue narrowly missed out on a place with the US Olympic diving team in 2004 but now hopes to prove he has what it takes to be the best – not from 10 metres but 27!
Steven's physique makes him a natural gymnast and big things are expected of the 27-year-old. The 5ft 4in athlete took his place in the 2012 World Series after emerging victorious for the second year in a row from the World Series qualification event held on the Hawkesbury River in Australia's New South Wales.
The native of New Jersey continued his impressive development with a second-placed finishes in the first two competitions of the 2012 World Series in France and Norway and tasted his first World Series win four months later in Wales. In with a shot of the overall title going into the final competition of the year in Oman, Steven finished third overall.
With the Fort Lauderdale based coach now one of the most consistent performers in the World Series, his next objective is to increase the Degree Of Difficulty of his dives ahead of a tilt at the title in 2013.
