The World Run was first held in 2014 and this year, the event continues with the innovative format of having the finish line chase the runners. Your distance is recorded at the point the car overtakes you. A host of famous Red Bull athletes have driven the Catcher Cars that pursue the runners, including Carlos Sainz, Max Verstappen, David Coulthard and Mark Webber.
There are over 20 start locations around the globe, the majority in Europe and if you want to take part then go to www.wingsforlifeworldrun.com where you can find all relevant information as well as get some training tips from world class athletes. And you will be in good company if you are a Toro Rosso fan, as we are entering our own team this year. In the past, several members of our staff have taken part, but this time we're doing it as a proper team. Running the Grand Prix tracks is a popular form of relaxation for hundreds of F1 folk and some of our guys, who will be taking part in the run that starts from Milan, have experience of running marathons and it goes without saying, as they work in motor racing, that they are ultracompetitive! There's bound to be some fierce but friendly rivalry between our group from Faenza and the one made up of those who work in our wind tunnel in Bicester, United Kingdom. They will be racing in Cambridge.
If you sign up for either of these runs, be sure to say hello to our guys, who will be easy to spot, as they will be running in Scuderia Toro Rosso-liveried kit. Come and give it a go and run for those who can't!
