May 16, 2017

Supporting young talent has always been part of our philosophy, both at the track and in our factory, as well as on various other projects. That’s why we are one of the enthusiastic partners of Muner, the Motor Vehicle University of Emilia-Romagna.

This new entity has come about with the help of the universities of Bologna, Ferrari, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Parma, with support from the major marques, based in what is known as Italy's Motor Valley, who have written the history of Italian motor sport on two and four wheels, such as Lamborghini, Dallara, Ducati, Ferrari, Maserati, Magneti Marelli and ourselves, Scuderia Toro Rosso.

Muner is a university open to students from around the world with a passion for engineering and innovation, who want to be the engineers of the future. It offers two MA course, both run in English: Advanced Automotive Engineering and Advanced Automotive Electronic Engineering. In order to be eligible students must already have obtained a degree, from a three year course, as proof of competence in engineering and technical-scientific studies. Italian students must have a 95/110 pass mark for their degree, while foreign students must have an equivalent qualification, while all applicants must possess an average to good knowledge of English.

Applications are already open for students from outside the EU. Those interested in the Advanced Automotive Engineering course must register prior to 18th May with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia via this link. 12 of the 120 places are available for non-EU students, while the rest are for Italians and other European Union citizens, according to a table that will be published some time this month.

Those wishing to register for the Advanced Automotive Electronic Engineering course, will be able to do so as from 19th June with the University of Bologna, by clicing here. The courses covers theoretical and practical work, which will take place in laboratories at the various universities and at the headquarters of the industry partners, providing students with a high level of competence, by following the principle of learning by doing.

At the launch of Muner, Scuderia Toro Rosso's HR and Legal Director, Otello Valenti, said:

"We are happy and proud to be part of this new project, which actually fits in well our company philosophy. Ours is a company in a state of constant movement, always investing in research and development, as well as technological and organisational innovation. We have always targeted young talent, be it on track, running young drivers, or with the staff that make up our team. Projects such as "Red Bull on Stage" and "Formula Future" are just two clear examples; the first aimed at young university students and those who have just graduated and the second one targeting youngsters coming from technical institutes in our area, in both cases with training followed by hiring. The Muner project is a perfect fit with the structure of our training and educational path. It means we can offer up all our team's know-how, making a significant investment in the education of the professionals of tomorrow, working in conjunction with other centres of excellent in the area of motor sport, present in the Emilia Romagna region."
