He raced in Formula BMW Pacific and Europe and won the Formula BMW Europe Rookie Cup. A big achievement came in 2011, when the Spaniard won the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup. 2012 was the year of F3 as he raced in both the British and European championships. The following year, he raced successfully in GP3. In 2014, he secured his most important result to date by winning the Formula Renault 3.5 World Series title in true style. Now, after a successful 2015, he is behind the wheel of an STR11, for his second season in Formula 1.
