We already mentioned it a few weeks ago, but to those who are still asking, what is Muner, the answer is that the universities of Bologna, Ferrara, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Parma have joined forces, along with the major players of Italy's "Motor Valley" to create two degree courses in Advanced Automotive Engineering e Advanced Automotive Electronic Engineering. Therefore, thanks to support from Lamborghini, Dallara, Ducati, Ferrari, Maserati, Magneti Marelli, HPA Coxa and ourselves, Scuderia Toro Rosso, the first university for students from all over the world who want to attain a high level education in the automotive and motor sport worlds has been created. The courses feature lectures on the theory of the subject combined with practical work at the laboratories of the industrial partners so that students can reach the required professional standards through the "learning by doing" method. Registration for those who require visas to study in Italy has just ended and now it's the turn of those from EU and EEC countries.
The degree course in Advanced Automotive Engineering (structured in such a way that you can choose amongst different profiles: Advanced Powertrain, Advanced Motorcycle Engineering, Advanced Sportscar Manufacturing, High Performance Car Design, Racing Car Design) at the Reggio-Emilia university focuses on design of high-performance and motorsport vehicles. The course covers major systems and components of combustion, hybrid and electric power units, both for commercial and competition use. There are 108 places available for students from the EU with a further 12 places for non-EU applicants.
For further information on how to apply, until the 3rd of November (priority to those who sign on before 28/07 2017), go to the >>> UNIMORE WEBSITE.
The degree course in Advanced Automotive Electronic Engineering is run at the Bologna university. Students will graduate as vehicle electrical engineers, designing systems for premium road cars and motor sport vehicles. They will work on electrical management systems that run the vehicle's intelligent functionality, an area that is growing rapidly in importance. There are 22 places for EU students and 8 for non-EU students. Again, applications should be made before 3rd November (priority to those who sign on before the 28th of July 2017).
Just visit the >>> UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA WEBSITE
In both cases the deadline to apply is 3rd of November 2017. What are the requirements for admission? Applicants must already have a three year degree, with a score of 95/110 in the Italian system, or equivalent thereof from other countries. The degree must be one that provides basic competence in the areas of engineering and technical materials/basic sciences (maths, IT, statistics, chemistry and physics.) Lessons and tests will be held in English, therefore applicants must have a level equivalent to or superior to B2 EU Standard. On-line applications will be evaluated by a Panel that will select candidates for a verbal interview that will take place between 4 and 9 September 2017. Admission will therefore depend on an evaluation of all documentation and the final verbal interview. The Muner - Motorvehicle University of Emilia Romagna project is a perfect fit with the structure of Scuderia Toro Rosso's training courses and we are therefore very enthusiastic about it. We believe in young talent, but now is the time for you to believe in yourself. Don't miss out on this great opportunity and good luck!
